Michael Buxton has over 40 years of experience in the property industry, beginning with property management and sales in his family’s business, JR Buxton Pty Ltd.
In 1976, Michael co-founded Becton Corporation and as Joint Managing Director built the company into one of the most successful property investment and development companies in Australia.
At the end of 1994, Michael sold his interest in Becton Corporation and in 1995 founded MAB Corporation with his brother, Andrew.
Chief Financial Officer
Tiffany Bahen currently holds the position of Director of Finance of Buxton Family Office within MAB Corporation. She has been responsible for overseeing the Buxton Family Office for the past six years, which has included property development and private equity investment.
Tiffany has over 15 years of experience in accounting, financial management and analysis, corporate structuring and strategy, having worked in senior roles at firms including Deloitte and Pitcher Partners.
Investment Committee Chairman
Michael has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, strategy development and general management in a range of financial disciplines.
After beginning his career as a chartered accountant, Michael worked across multiple roles at Mobil Oil and Linfox. When Linfox acquired Armaguard in 2001, he became CFO and then CEO of the Armaguard Group.
In 2010, Michael joined MAB where he has been instrumental in its performance and growth over the past decade.
Michael is a 35-year veteran of the Australian valuation industry, with experience in development, mortgage and major institutional valuations across residential, commercial/industrial and retail property. He retains ongoing exposure to the market in all property sectors in his continuing role as Joint Managing Partner of one of Australia’s major valuation and advisory operations.
Michael also sits on the API Development Valuation Advisory Committee where he continues to contribute to the management of industry compliance matters in Australia.
Andrew has over 20 years of experience in the property industry, with considerable time working across organisations in the construction, development and infrastructure sectors.
His expertise spans urban renewal projects, residential and industrial subdivisions, the development of commercial, industrial and retail projects, and both medium and highdensity residential development.
Andrew is highly respected for his strategic thinking and detailed delivery, with many of his projects winning industry awards.
Having held prominent roles at major organisations within the construction, property investment and finance sectors, George brings broad knowledge to Corsair.
George’s experience includes positions as Group Chief Financial Officer of Hickory Construction Group, Commercial Director of Prudential Equity Partners and Group Chief Financial Officer of the Costa Group of Companies.
From the management of funding relationships to commercial due diligence and strategic advice, George’s expertise is highly valued.
As a qualified property valuer, Jeremy has had exposure across most real estate sectors and brings a breadth of knowledge and technical capability to the investment team at Corsair.
Jeremy’s responsibilities include assisting with transaction structuring, execution, and relationship management. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Property and Valuation) with Honours from RMIT University.
As Director of Bluestone Real Estate and Buxton Projects, Josh Buxton brings many years of experience in the property industry with involvement in some of Australia’s best known residential developments.
Josh has an intimate understanding of market trends which he draws on to deliver innovative concepts and superior products to suit market demands.
Michael brings more than 25 years of financial services and natural resources experience to Corsair.
Michael was the founding partner of the Treasury Group of Companies in 1999 in partnership with Victor Smorgon. In 2006, he established Maximum Capital (MaxCap) with Vincent Rusciano. Both enterprises were start-ups and became leading non-bank lenders for commercial property.
Michael is one of Australia’s most experienced operatives in the financial services sector. As its appointed Chair, he is leading the establishment and growth of Corsair Investment Management.
Chief Investment Officer
Chris Moyle brings in-depth real estate lending experience from Australia and the UK to his role as Chief Investment Officer. Chris was formerly Head of Real Estate Finance – Victoria for Westpac Institutional Bank. Prior to that he held various senior real estate finance roles with National Australia Bank.
His broad experience extends across the property market having worked with small private developers through to large private families, unlisted funds and A-REITS across all asset classes.
He has delivered finance for some of the country’s largest developments and has extensive experience in transaction execution.
Steve Buxton’s vast property experience includes more than 20 years working in agencies across all real estate sectors, as well as directly developing over $1.5 billion in residential, commercial and retail property.
Steve has also successfully run businesses in owners corporation management, property management and embedded network provisions. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Property.
Danielle Fergus brings broad property experience to Corsair Investment Management, including running her own commercial property consultancy, BPC PTY LTD, and working as a consultant for Colliers Jardine International and Jones Lang Wootton.
For many years, Danielle was Commercial Property Manager of MAB where she oversaw the extensive mixed-use development of the NewQuay precinct at Docklands. Danielle holds a Diploma in Financial Markets.
One of Australia’s leading property communications and brand creators, Ben Buxton has spent over 20 years in the Australian property marketing arena.
As the original founder of Grenade communication and recipient of several national design awards, Ben has been front and centre in successful the marketing and sales of over $2.5 billion of Australian real estate over the past two decades.
Chief Operating Officer
Rob Altson brings over a decade of experience across real estate advisory, valuations, acquisitions and property finance to his role at Corsair Investment Management.
Through extensive experience at Westpac Bank and as a property valuer, Rob has had exposure to all real estate sectors nationally, working with participants spanning small private developers to global real estate funds.
Rob is responsible for overseeing all operational, origination, execution and investment management activities within Corsair. He holds a Masters of Property from RMIT University.
Through generations of developing Australian property, the Buxton and Fowler amalgamation which is the foundation of Corsair Investment Management has the unique advantage of accessing both family office and institution backed capital.
