Founder & Chairman
Founder
Michael Buxton has over 40 years of experience in the property industry, beginning with property management and sales in his family’s business, JR Buxton Pty Ltd.
In 1976, Michael co-founded Becton Corporation and as Joint Managing Director built the company into one of the most successful property investment and development companies in Australia.
At the end of 1994, Michael sold his interest in Becton Corporation and in 1995 founded MAB Corporation with his brother, Andrew.
Executive Chairman
Michael Fowler brings 30 years of funds management, financial services and natural resources experience to Corsair.
After managing a large private investment group throughout the late 90s, Michael started the Treasury Group of Companies in partnership with Victor Smorgon, the real estate debt business grew to circa $1.2bn in funds under management, which was consequently sold to City Pacific in 2004.
In 2006 Michael established Maximum Capital (MaxCap Group) with Vincent Rusciano and exited in December 2017. Michael is one of Australia’s most experienced operatives in the Australian commercial real estate debt sector.
As Executive Chairman, Michael is leading the growth of Corsair Investment Management, its team, institutional and private capital partnerships.

Board Member
Danielle Fergus brings broad property experience to Corsair Investment Management, including running her own commercial property consultancy, BPC PTY LTD, and working as a consultant for Colliers Jardine International and Jones Lang Wootton.
For many years, Danielle was Commercial Property Manager of MAB where she oversaw the extensive mixed-use development of the NewQuay precinct at Docklands. Danielle holds a Diploma in Financial Markets.

Steve Buxton’s vast property experience includes more than 20 years working in agencies across all real estate sectors, as well as directly developing over $1.5 billion in residential, commercial and retail property.
Steve has also successfully run businesses in owners corporation management, property management and embedded network provisions. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Property.

As Director of Bluestone Real Estate and Buxton Projects, Josh Buxton brings many years of experience in the property industry with involvement in some of Australia’s best known residential developments.
Josh has an intimate understanding of market trends which he draws on to deliver innovative concepts and superior products to suit market demands.

One of Australia’s leading property communications and brand creators, Ben Buxton has spent over 25 years in the Australian property marketing arena.
As the original founder of Grenade communication and recipient of several national design awards, Ben has been front and centre in the successful marketing and sales of over $2.5 billion of Australian real estate over the past two decades. Ben is currently the Director of B&B Property Group, a Melbourne based development entity focused on creating iconic, liveable and inspiring projects.

Chief Financial Officer
Dean McIntyre currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer of the MRB Group. He is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the MRB Group which includes the investment of a wide ranges of assets across several sectors of the market.
Dean has over 12 years of experience in accounting and financial management, corporate structuring, and tax strategy.
He is currently a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Diploma of Australian Taxation Law.
Head of Origination
Kate is a dynamic leader with over 15 years’ experience in commercial real estate debt and investment across banks and alternative lenders in the UK and Australia. Since 2005, Kate has held roles at Deutsche Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, QIC, Bankwest and MaxCap Group.
Kate is passionate and energetic about the industry and brings positivity, excellence and integrity to this role together with a vast network of key market connections.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of Queensland.
Finance Manager
Sussan has more than 15 years’ experience in accounting and finance, having worked previously at Deloitte, Pitcher Partners and Whitbread Insurance Brokers, and joined Corsair in 2016 as Finance Manager. She oversees the day-to-day finance operations.
Sussan has a Bachelor of Commerce from Melbourne University and is a Chartered Accountant.
Chief Investment Officer
John has more than 30 years’ experience in the corporate finance sector. He was previously responsible for growing the non-bank lending platform of FIIG Securities to over $3bn in assets.
Prior to FIIG, John held senior roles with Lloyds Bank, JP Morgan and Deloitte.
John holds degrees in Economics & Finance from the University of Melbourne and is a graduate of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Directors.
Operations Manager
Bianca’s professional background showcases a remarkable repertoire of over 12 years of administrative and operational experience in both the retail banking and automotive sectors. Having dedicated the last 5 years to banking, she has developed a profound comprehension of financial compliance and administrative necessities within the lending domain. Bianca’s educational achievements include a Bachelor of Arts degree in media studies, which she earned from Victoria University of Wellington.

Andrew has over 20 years of experience in the property industry, with considerable time working across organisations in the construction, development and infrastructure sectors.
His expertise spans urban renewal projects, residential and industrial subdivisions, the development of commercial, industrial and retail projects, and both medium and highdensity residential development.
Andrew is highly respected for his strategic thinking and detailed delivery, with many of his projects winning industry awards.
Investment Committee Chairman
Michael has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, strategy development and general management in a range of financial disciplines.
After beginning his career as a chartered accountant, Michael worked across multiple roles at Mobil Oil and Linfox. When Linfox acquired Armaguard in 2001, he became CFO and then CEO of the Armaguard Group.
In 2010, Michael joined MAB where he has been instrumental in its performance and growth over the past decade.
Investment Committee
Michael is a 35-year veteran of the Australian valuation industry, with experience in development, mortgage and major institutional valuations across residential, commercial/industrial and retail property. He retains ongoing exposure to the market in all property sectors in his continuing role as Joint Managing Partner of one of Australia’s major valuation and advisory operations.
